Recorded Webinar: The Joy of Soy in a Flexitarian Lifestyle

Join Dawn Jackson Blatner, RDN, and author of “The Flexitarian Diet” as she breaks down what the flexitarian lifestyle is and why all plant-based proteins are not created equal.

Follow Dawn as she demonstrates three delicious recipes, sharing how soyfoods like tofu, tempeh, and soymilk, offer nutritious plant-based ingredient swaps. You will also hear about the efforts farmers take to improve the sustainability of the US soybean crop.

Research from the United Soybean Board has found that most people have a positive soy attitude. Soy is a complete, high-quality protein and one of the few plant-based proteins that provides all nine of the essential amino acids in adequate amounts – making it a great addition to a flexitarian diet.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, health care professionals will be better able to:

  1. Identify what makes soy protein unique among plant-based proteins.
  2. Explain the two FDA health claims tied to soybeans.
  3. Discuss farming practices soy farmers employ to improve soy’s sustainability.
  4. Counsel clients on culinary applications of soyfoods.
