Webinar: Yoga Therapy for Nutrition-Related Conditions: Mechanisms, Evidence, Practical Applications, and Credentialing

September 28, 2022

Yoga’s therapeutic use within Western clinical practice has been shown to help manage stress and support resilience in mental health, including facilitating health behavior change and improving relationships with food. A modified gentle yoga practice may enable injured, ill, or sedentary individuals to initiate safe and effective movement and gain benefits of improved physical activity. Recent insight into neurobiological and genetic mechanisms supports the skillful use of yoga for nutrition-related conditions.

Join Annie Kay, MS, RDN, RYT500, C-IAYT, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 2-3:30 p.m., for a webinar that will define and delineate yoga from general practice and focus on the mechanisms of yoga therapy’s action. Annie will dig into the state of the related scientific literature and discuss four practical applications of yoga through case study presentations: yoga for digestive health, eating disorders, healthy weight, and inflammatory pain. Annie will conclude your learning journey by guiding you through two yoga breathing and movement practices, and wrap up with a discussion around credentialing and future opportunities for RDs in the field of yoga.
