This continuing education course examines the nutritional aspects of autoimmune diseases that arise from natural disease progression and treatment. It provides RDs with the tools necessary to evaluate clients and provide appropriate and comprehensive nutritional treatment plans.
Learning Objectives
After completing this continuing education course, nutrition professionals should have a better understanding of the disease process, nutritional challenges, and treatment options for patients with autoimmune diseases and be better able to:
- Define an autoimmune disease.
- List at least three major nutrition implications of autoimmune diseases and their treatments.
- Assess the nutritional status of patients with autoimmune diseases.
