Anemia: Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention

This continuing education course examines and categorizes several forms of anemia and details their symptoms. It also discusses ways in which anemia is diagnosed and treated and the role nutrition plays in prevention and treatment. 

 

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education course, nutrition professionals should be better able to:

  1. State the difference between the most common types of anemia.
  2. Identify symptoms that may suggest underlying anemia.
  3. Identify patients who may be at higher risk for anemia.
  4. Educate patients about the need to include iron in their diets.
