The Association Between Weight Stigma, Restrictive Diets, and Eating Disorders
This continuing education course explores the literature surrounding weight stigma, dieting practices, and the onset of disordered eating habits and/or eating disorders. It also discusses interventions other than dieting that RDs can consider implementing in practice.
After completing this continuing education course, nutrition professionals should be better able to:
- Examine the role of weight stigma in the development of eating disorders.
- Identify disordered eating behaviors associated with both general dieting behaviors and chronic dieting practices.
- Discuss nutrition interventions other than dieting for use in clinical practice.
