Webinar: An In-Depth Look at the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans
Since 1980, the USDA and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have released the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGAs) every five years. The 2020-2025 guidelines were much anticipated, since for the first time they include recommendations for children aged 0 to 24 months, and pregnancy and lactation.
Join Toby Amidor, MS, RD, CDN, FAND, on Friday, January 22, 2021, from 2-3 p.m. ET as she reviews the history of the DGAs and the additions and modifications made to the latest edition. In addition, Toby will discuss ways practitioners can help clients more closely adhere to these nutrition recommendations.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity nutrition professionals will be better able to:
- Detail the process of how the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGAs) are created and updated.
- Analyze and summarize the changes and updates published in the 2020-2025 DGAs.
- Formulate and deploy healthful eating messages to clients based on the DGAs.
