This continuing education course will compare plant-based meat (PBM), cell-based meat (CBM), and animal proteins and their place in the global food market. It will evaluate the environmental impact of meat analogs and their effect on health, environmental welfare, and consumer acceptability.

After completing this continuing education course, nutrition professionals should be better able to:

  1. Assess the acceptability of plant-based meat analogs by consumers.
  2. Examine the nutritional benefits of consuming plant- and cell-based meat alternatives.
  3. Explore the future of plant-based foods and their sustainability footprint and environmental impact.
