Learning Objectives

After participating in this continuing education activity, nutrition professionals should be better able to:

  1. Differentiate between the main types of thyroid disease and describe common symptoms.
  2. Evaluate comorbidities associated with thyroid disease.
  3. Identify key nutritional deficiencies associated with thyroid disease and food sources of these nutrients.
  4. Educate patients with thyroid disease on the benefits of exercise.
  5. Assess thyroid function’s impact on pregnancy.
