Symposium Session: Affordable Nutrition: How Food Prices Impact Food Insecurity and How to Leverage to Grocery Stores to Shop Healthy on a Budget
During this session, we will begin with an overview of present knowledge on food prices, food insecurity, and how these intersect with the impact of food assistance programs. We will also hear from a large food retailer on present day challenges of rising food costs on shoppers, along with the contribution of wellness programs and nutrition education services in food retail settings to support nutrient dense and affordable meal solutions.
