Symposium Session: Workshop: Ask the Expert: Responding Responsibly to Editorial Media Queries
Registered dietitians ARE the nutrition experts and must understand how to educate consumers through nutrition facts that combat myths and fads. Toby Amidor, MS, RD, CDN, FAND, 2018 recipient of the AND Media Excellence Award, and Wall Street Journal best-selling cookbook author, will share her experience on how to get started working with the media (with a focus on editorial media) and will explain trusted techniques and best practices to control the message and the interview. From creating sound bites and quotes that are educational and memorable, to helping navigate questions and responses on controversial nutrition topics – including processed food, sugar and center-of-the-store nutrition – this session will provide skills on how to respond to editorial media inquiries.
This is not a webinar or course for purchase - this is a module for credit claiming for our 2024 Spring Symposium attendees and cannot be purchased or taken by non-attendees. These sessions are exclusive to our Symposium; however, the topics may be revisited in the future in the form of a webinar or self-study course.
